  • Due Tuesday 2/17: four journal entries & be ready to answer the essential questions quiz.
  • Due Wednesday 2/18: Karoo Boy 160-174. Find the climax to the plot of the novel.

Mangroves, Oysters, & Birds






We just got back from the best field trip I have ever taken. Three days in Sine Saloum, nice weather, and everyone was in good spirit. During our adventure we took a pirogue to the mangroves where students tasted oysters, observed birds, and strolled on a island. Check out the video of Jad eating an oyster for the first time. Will he like it?

In a war, civilized people kill human beings. How can a civilized person do this? Why do they do this? How does it affect them? Do civilized people become uncivilized during war?
